The Omaha Running Club is proud to present the Omaha Heartland Marathon, the event that has become the ultimate marathon running experience in Omaha. The last few years have been a whirlwind: getting out of the pandemic, growing businesses, taking care of food trailers and fundraising, and life in general has been a success. Fundraising through races such as 5 km races, fun runs or marathons is important because it creates a sense of community among the people who participate. A fun run, usually in the form of a walking marathon (or swimming marathon or bicycle marathon), can be an accessible way to raise funds for an organization or cause. Lottery or raffle winnings spent in this way must be intended to benefit all members and not an individual member, except that no provision in this section shall prohibit funding of scholarships, medical assistance, or disaster relief to people in need.
Ladies of the Evening is a group of women from the Omaha Running Club who share a common interest in running and walking. Nothing in this section shall prohibit the issuance of free tickets; however, the value of all free tickets will be included in the gross revenues derived from the lottery or raffle activity.
